Established by Gustave August Besson in Paris 1837, established a London branch by 1850. Besson was fined for patent problems with A. Sax during the mid 1800's. After his death in 1874 his widow and then daughter Marthe took over the business in 1874. The company was taken over by Boosey & Hawkes in 1948. |
