Historical Detail - 1882-1940. Started by James Warren York in 1882, was a former employee of Boston Musical Instrment. Opened a factory in 1885 with Holton for one year. Joined by his sons in 1900 and operated as J W York & Sons, 1926/27 as York Band Instrument Co. The company was sold to Carl Fisher in 1940.
